Gaana Subscription Cancel
Today, I woke up and saw a strange message from Gaana. "If you don't pay, you will face penalty charges". If you are stuck like me :p, I have successfully stopped the subscription. The steps may help you too to get out of this situation.
Update: Gaana app tried to make payment again, There was no call center available so I mailed them on feedback@gaana.com requesting to stop payment, they responded pretty fast and told me they have closed the auto payment. So you also have to contact them to stop the autopay.
Long Story Short - I purchased a small 10 rupee plan, made the payment, and then the auto-renewal turn-off option was visible. Using that I stopped renewal. If need more clear info, keep reading :) it's a short one.
Why do I have to pay charges??? But okay let's cancel the subscription.
I went to the App Settings>My Profile>Subscription Details
There was no option to cancel the subscription. Only renew now was present. Still, it was trying to pay the amount and incur charges for me.
Went to Renew Now, select the plan for the least amount. After paying the amount got the subscription message from Gaana.
Finally, the renewal cancellation button was visible. I turned that off. Then came confirmation - which every one of us is waiting for.
And here you confirm, "yes want to leave" - then you will get the message informing you that subscription is canceled successfully. Congratulations !!! Enjoy the app for the time duration till you have paid, then delete or keep your choice.
In conclusion, may or may not the charges will come to you if payment is not successful, I did it with my Paytm wallet which I don't use. It was having 0 rupees, That's why Gaana was not able to withdraw money. Else would have lost too much money without knowing. Also, there is no refund possible too, Once the money is gone, it's gone - enjoy the subscription till it ends (with curses). You can contact customer care during office hours after 9 am Monday to Saturday they may help you to cancel that too. It would be a cheap option for you.
Try to figure out all the subscriptions you took and take the time in closing those. If it would be a credit card or debit card, all the money will be gone - the companies are adapting bad business strategies that we users can't figure out until payment is cut. Hope it helped you, Comment down if you have any ideas, or thought to share. Thank you and have a nice day :)
